Origins
The origins of the parent company lie in its founder Benoît Vincendeau’s passion for motocross. Over the years, he made a significant contribution to the sport, not only as a rider but through his professional career. In 1974, he founded SADEV, specializing in supplying gearboxes specifically designed for the demands of motocross competitions, renowned for their robustness and quality.
Presence & markets
Today, the brand supports several motorsport competitions such as Rallycross, WRC, Rally Raid, TCR, WEC and Formula E, with major international titles. Its products are present in more than 50 countries and it is currently expanding into the Indian market and other Asian markets.
Group structure
The group’s structure is split between France (around 250 employees), Portugal (30 employees) and the United States (10 employees), where it operates through its subsidiary Sadev Transmissions Inc., a distribution company designed to help conquer this vast market.
2024 acquisitions
In 2024, the SADEV group acquired two additional business units: Billard Engrenages in France (30 employees) and TAM Industries in Tunisia (30 employees). Then, in 2025, it acquired another unit: Serodem (30 employees), to expand internationally, strengthen production capacity and diversify market presence.
VADP in Cete
The VADP plant, which initially had 15 employees, now has a team of 30 people. This growth was supported by the successive introduction and modernization of its machine fleet. Being located in Cete is an asset thanks to its proximity to Porto, the A4 motorway and Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport.
Goals & ambitions
Regarding VADP’s objectives, the focus is on upskilling teams and continuously upgrading machinery so the company becomes more competitive. In 2025, following a diversification strategy, VADP is opening to new markets to diversify its production. As for the SADEV Group, it reiterates its objective to enter Asian markets and is investing in modernizing its brand image and marketing strategy.
